Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino plants are the varieties that make up the blend. Medium-sized fruit depending on variety, Frantoio variety prevails. Green color with violet shades (invaiate) for Frantoio, black for Leccino and green for Pendolino. Harvesting carried out by hand and mechanically from mid-October to the end of November. Cold pressing (T <27°C) immediately after harvest.

Leccino and Frantoio plants are the varieties that make up the blend. These are the typical Tuscan cultivars that each provide a distinctive flavor and aroma. Leccino plants dominate. Healthy, medium-sized fruits slightly asymmetrical with medium-sized stone. Green with violet hues (invaiate) for Frantoio, black and large for Leccino. Harvesting carried out by hand and mechanically, from mid-October to the end of November. Cold pressing (T <27°C) immediately after harvest.

Our wine

Frederick V and Cicalino

Tenuta Il Cicalino grows organic grapes in the Tuscan Maremma, resuming a winemaking tradition that began in the early 1900s. We produce IGT and Monteregio red wines from selected grape varieties.

Aging 12 months in French barriques

The 2021 harvest was carried out in the second half of September, the grapes were crushed and fermented in cement tanks, and in November the wine was put into barrels for 12 months.
